Join the team and become an expert at maintaining and evolving a high-performance, distributed IT production environment.
You will be part of the SRE team, responsible for the production environment of the company. We work in close collaboration with the in-house end-users of our systems; the traders, risk managers, compliance officers and back-office operations to ensure a smooth day-to-day operation. This involves acquiring and configuring hardware and software, monitoring health and performance, tuning, troubleshooting and fixing when there are issues. And above all, building the tools to simplify these activities and increasing our quality and effectiveness as a team. With your engineering mindset and critical eye, you will be introducing structural improvements, removing toil, and evolving our production toolchain, solidifying the foundation on which we build towards becoming a competitive firm trading globally.

Your role
Ensuring a smooth operation of our production environment; the hardware and software which is built both in-house and by third-party vendors
Frequent interactions with our users; answering questions and troubleshooting in case of issues, and understanding their drivers and needs
Strong collaboration with the development team in building high quality production solutions
Learning about the trading domain, our systems, and what is needed from an IT perspective to run a trading firm
Building tools in Python or C++ to increase the effectiveness of the team, as well as the performance and reliability of our production environment
What you bring to WEBB
Eager, curious and fast learner
Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or related field
Knowledge of networking, hardware, OSes (Windows, Linux) databases (PostgreSQL) and comfortable on a command line
0 to 2 years experience in a system engineering role
Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with a ‘get it done’-mentality
Critical eye for complexity and non-value-adding work
Programming skills (Python, bash, nice to have: C++)
Fluent in English (nice to have: French for our Paris office)
